STORY - about Paul
Paul has spent decades working in the disability sector and has pretty much seen it all. He started out as a support worker, supporting people with complex and challenging behaviours, and over the years has worked in roles such as Client and Family Coordinator, Support Coordinator and now as a passionate Behaviour Support Practitioner. His long history in the sector means he brings practical, real world experience to every situation.

One of Paul’s biggest strengths is his communication. He has a calm, respectful way of talking with people that helps them feel heard, understood and safe. On top of his professional experience, Paul also brings lived experience through supporting his daughter, who has a disability. This gives him a depth of insight and empathy that can’t be taught in a textbook and helps him truly understand the challenges families and individuals face.

When Paul isn’t working, you’ll usually find him far away from phones, emails and deadlines ...often somewhere remote like the Great Lakes. He finds quiet, open spaces grounding and meditative, especially when there’s water involved. Paul loves fishing, although he’s far better at enjoying the peace than bringing anything home for dinner. The fish, it seems, know him well enough by now.
Paul is a valued part of the team and someone clients and families quickly trust.

STORY - about Ruby
Ruby brings a wonderful mix of knowledge and curiosity to the team. She started her journey in the disability sector as a support worker, where she built strong, practical skills working directly with people in their everyday lives. Ruby holds a university degree in Health Science and has almost finished her Master’s in Occupational Therapy ...so yes, she studies a lot and somehow still has energy left.
While completing her studies, Ruby works casually as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with Pixe PBS. Her background in Occupational Therapy is a huge asset, especially her strong interest in sensory supports. Ruby has a great way of noticing how sensory needs (like noise, movement, or touch) can impact behaviour.

Ruby also brings lived experience to her work through supporting her father, who has a disability. This gives her a deep understanding of what it’s really like for individuals and families — the challenges, the patience required and the importance of being listened to.

When Ruby isn’t working or studying, you’ll likely find her doing something calm and comforting. She loves unwinding with a Harry Potter movie (for the hundredth time), heading out for a peaceful bush walk, or enjoying a well earned glass of rosé. Balance is important, after all.
With her growing expertise, sensory focused approach, lived experience and warm personality, Ruby is a valued part of the team.

STORY - about Pigmy
Pigmy is our smallest team member, but don’t let her size fool you... she has a very big heart (and an even bigger personality).

Pigmy sometimes comes along to meet clients — only for people who like dogs, of course. She has a calm, friendly presence and is very good at sitting nearby, soaking up attention and reminding everyone to take a breath. Her main skills include making people smile and lowering stress levels without saying a single word.

Outside of work, Pigmy is extremely busy. She loves balls (all balls, especially ones that are not hers), going for walks, chasing couriers who dare approach the house and following her humans everywhere — including to rooms she absolutely does not need to be in.

Pigmy takes her job seriously, even if she occasionally falls asleep on duty. Whether she’s offering quiet company or just being her lovable, snorty self, Pigmy brings warmth, comfort and a bit of fun to the team.
